Quran Urdu WBW
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Quran Urdu WBW (“the App”) handles information. The App is designed to collect as little data as possible.
1. Summary
- We do not collect personal information.
- We do not require an account or sign-in.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
- Bookmarks, notes, and preferences stay only on your device.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect, store on our servers, sell, or share:
- Name, email address, phone number, or other contact details
- Account credentials or profile information
- Precise or approximate location
- Contacts, photos, files, or device identifiers used for advertising
- Usage analytics, crash reports sent to third-party analytics providers, or advertising IDs
There is no cloud account linked to the App.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
The following may be stored locally on your device (for example via Android SharedPreferences and app cache):
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Reading preferences (theme, font size, display options) | To remember how you like to read |
| Last-read surah and ayah | So you can continue where you left off |
| Recently viewed surahs | To help you reopen recent chapters |
| Bookmarks | To save ayahs you mark |
| Highlights | To color-mark ayahs |
| Notes | To store personal notes you write |
| Saved words | To keep words you save for later |
| Cached surah content | To support offline reading after a surah has been opened |
This data is not uploaded to us. It is removed if you uninstall the App or clear the App’s data in Android settings.
4. Internet Use and Third-Party Services
The App requests the Internet permission.
When you are online, the App may:
- Fetch or refresh Qur’an content from the Quran.com API over HTTPS
- Perform search requests (for Arabic/English queries) via the Quran.com API
- Search Urdu text using data bundled with the App on your device
We do not control Quran.com’s servers. Their handling of requests is governed by their own terms and policies. The App only sends what is needed for content and search (for example, a search query and chapter identifiers)—not your name, email, or bookmarks.
Once a surah has been opened, content may be cached locally so you can read offline.
5. Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet | To load/refresh Qur’an content and run online search |
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, SMS, phone, or broad storage access beyond normal app-private storage.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because we do not operate accounts or collect personal data, the App may be used by a general audience. Parents and guardians remain responsible for how devices are used.
7. Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share personal information with third parties for advertising or analytics, because we do not collect it.
Device-to-API communication with Quran.com (described above) is solely to provide reading and search features.
8. Security
Local preferences and study data remain on your device under Android’s normal app sandbox. Network requests to Quran.com use HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we design the App to minimize data exposure by not collecting personal information in the first place.
9. Your Choices
You can:
- Change or clear reading preferences inside the App
- Remove bookmarks, highlights, notes, and saved words in the App
- Clear all local App data via Android Settings → Apps → Quran Urdu WBW → Storage → Clear data
- Uninstall the App to remove local App data
Because we do not hold a personal profile about you on our servers, there is typically no “delete my account” process beyond clearing or uninstalling the App on your device.
10. International Use
The App may be used in different countries. Network requests to Quran.com may be processed on servers outside your country. Local study data stays on your device.
11. Content Sources (Informational)
The App uses content from sources such as the Quran.com API, the Quranic Universal Library, Fateh Muhammad Jalandhari’s Urdu translation, and morphology data from the Quranic Arabic Corpus. This section is for attribution and transparency; it does not mean those projects receive your personal information from us.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the App or on this page.
